About Lauren
Lauren Breitman Tanen
Lauren Breitman Tanen advises senior executives and leadership teams at the moments that matter most — when roles shift, stakes are high, and decisions shape both career trajectory and reputation.
With more than 20 years of experience in employment law and executive leadership advisory, Lauren is a trusted counselor to C-suite leaders navigating complex transitions, executive negotiations, and sensitive organizational moments. She partners with senior leaders to help them move into, through, and out of the C-suite with clarity, confidence, and strategic foresight.
Before founding LBT Advisory, Lauren held senior in-house leadership roles at globally recognized companies including PVH, Spotify, Shopify, and GIII. In these roles, she advised executives on the most complex and high-stakes people matters, from leadership transitions and executive agreements to organizational change and reputation-sensitive communications. She also served as partner and head of the employment law group at a boutique New York law firm.
Drawing on this deep insider experience, Lauren counsels executives directly through pivotal career moments — negotiating executive employment and equity arrangements, structuring leadership transitions and executive separations, including equity buyouts and transition agreements, and guiding communication strategies during sensitive inflection points. Having spent decades on the company side of these decisions, she brings practical insight and steady judgment to leaders navigating some of the most defining moments of their careers.
Lauren also works closely with leadership teams and organizations as a trusted trainer and strategic thought partner. She conducts independent workplace investigations and advises on complex compliance and governance matters, including FLSA and other risk-focused audits, helping organizations strengthen leadership alignment, workplace culture, and operational integrity.
Lauren holds a B.A. from Colgate University and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
Outside of her professional work, Lauren is a proud mother of three sons and a devoted wife. She loves live music, Broadway theatre, and fashion, and enjoys spending time at the beach—especially with a great beach hat. She also loves being outdoors, staying active, and playing tennis or skiing. Above all, she is a passionate advocate for the power of communication, strong relationships, and meaningful human connection.
